Check out a couple new photos, including one of David at the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. 4/10/2007 - David's happy to announce that the video Supercharged: Flatpicking with David Grier is now available on DVD!! Purchase in David's online store. Also, VIc's Guitar Cave in planning a great concert by David on April 24th in Pumpkin Ridge, Oregon. Make sure to give them a call at 503-357-2787 for reservations. Make sure to catch David with Psychograss at the Old Settler's Fest in Dripping Springs, TX (outside of Austin) the 19th through 22nd. A great festival and an intense band. David wants to make the following announcement:
The Calendar has been updated for David's 2007 shows with the Greencards, as well as his solo and Psychograss shows. Make a point of seeing David and the Greencards this spring! Also, David is on Tony Trischka's new album "Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular." Incredible album. You need to catch David --along with cohort Mike Compton--picking with Earl Scruggs on Farewell Blues. Worth the price of the CD just for that. Check it out! 12/6/06 - One very important update -- New promo photos are now available in the online Press Kit. Also, Mark Wells has submitted a photo of David performing at an Alan Cline sponsored house concert this year in Eugene Oregon. This photo is aslo available through the Media section. 11/30/06 - Don't fret, we'll be getting up dates for 2007 very soon. For now, enjoy this photo taken by Stephen Lankford of David performing at Randy Wood's earlier in the month. Photo is also posted on the Miscellaneous Photos page through the Media section. 11/10/06 - This is a note to anyone wishing to book David. Contact information for his booking agent Janice Young has changed as following: Janice Young 10/31/06 - Here's a great addition -- a beautiful watercolor of David by Atma (click to enlarge -- also available for viewing in the Media under "Photos") 10/18/06 - IBMA 2006 is done and over with and by several accounts, David was again performing and jamming ad infinitum. Here are some new photos of David at IBMA. Also, there were some complaints that the review of David's Albany NY concert couldn't be easily read, since the review was in a JPEG/scanned format. You can now read the review as plain HTML here at this site or read the review online at Celticguitarmusic.com. 9/21/06 - David had a great time touring the Northeast -- and apparently the Northeast did too! Read this review "He Knows How to Pick 'Em" by Glenn Weiser of David's September 9th, 2006 Albany NY concert at the WAMC Performing Arts Center. 9/1/06 - New tour dates added to the calendar, so take a look to see if David might be in your area soon! We've added a photo from a recent concert at the Dolphin Striker in Portsmouth, NH. 8/21/06 - David's on a tour of the great Northwest until early September, so make sure to catch him while he's there! He'll be at the Northwest String Summit for several days with Noam Pikelny and Shadd Cobb (a must see). He'll then be in Eugene Oregon on Aug. 28 for a solo house concert (please contact Alan Cline at 541-513-4667 for details/reservations). Then it's off to Washington State for a concert at Dusty Strings and then a concert/workshop in Winlock. Also, please note, that David is currently sitting for new promotional photos, so there are no promo shots available in the press kit. Please contact David or check back in the future for the new photos. The Instrument Gallery ran it's course. We're looking at something new and exciting to put in its place. Lastly, our hit counter stopped working a week ago. Your Humble Webmaster is aware and has yet to check with the hosting company as to why this failed (this is one of their scripts and it may have been disabled due to all the revamping of their systems that they are doing on their end). We are aware of the problem and will try to fix it soon. 6/2/06 - Photo updates ad nauseam! David has provided a couple dozen vintage photos which have finally been added to the Photos section of the Media page. There is now one section that is nothing but vintage promotional photos (as well as some pro-taken black and whites). Also there are several more in the Mike Compton and Miscellaneous photo sections. And, for those of you who have lost sleep over David's preferred plectrum choice, you can refer to this photo. David enjoyed his tour of the UK and Prague. Thanks to all those who came out! David's got a busy schedule ahead of him, so make sure to come out and say hey when he's in your area. Among those stops will be the Celebration of Bill Monroe in Bloomington Indiana June 10th with Mike Compton and Butch Robins. This is a must see concert--and there is also a workshop earlier in the day with David, Compton and Robins. It'd been something in the planning for awhile, so he's glad you're making the best of it! David will be on tour the next three weeks in the British Isles. David, Mike Compton, and Butch Robins have consented to performing in Bloomington Indiana Saturday June 10th as part of a "Celebration of Bill Monroe's Music." The day will involve the trio holding a workshop on the intrepretation of Bill Monroe's music for their respective instruments and ensemble; then later an evening concert at the Rose Firebay of the Waldron Arts Center, one of the best small acoustic recital halls in town. Also, David has provided some interesting tidbits on some of the guitars in the Instrument Gallery, so read on. 3/29/06 - We've now put up an exhaustive photo gallery of David's guitars. Each day you'll see a different featured guitar. Click on the photo--go to the gallery. That simple. We're still in the process of bringing you the details and history of each guitar, but enjoy the photos for now. The Instrument Gallery also has a permanent link amongst the Photos in the Media section of the site. 3/1/06 - David had a great time in the great NorthWest and thanks everyone who came out to his house concerts, clinics, and Psychograss performance at Wintergrass.
